Hello

Thank you so much for choosing Apartamento Esther!
We’re happy to have you.

It’s always such a pleasure to welcome travellers like you. The apartment has been in our family for over 30 years now and many happy holidays have been spent here over that time. That’s how we know that this is a great spot to explore San Luis de Sabinillas and the surrounding towns, especially if this is your first time in the area!

We’ve added some tips for sightseeing and local insights to this page, just in case you need them.

This page hopefully has everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay at our apartment, including instructions for how to use the appliances.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need anything during your stay.

Enjoy your time in Sabinillas!

Love,
Paul & James

Kitchen

You should have everything you need for cooking and cleaning while you’re here!

Washing
  • Feel free to use the washing machine, there is detergent under the sink.
  • To dry your washing, you can hang it on the roof space of the building. The key is by the front door.
Food
  • There are essentials for cooking and food left in the cupboards! Help yourself during your stay. We’d appreciate it if you could try to replace anything you finish so the next guest has everything they need.
  • When checking out, feel free to leave unopened fridge items, but take out things which have been used.
Hob/Stove
  • To operate the hob, first turn it on, then select a plate and use the +/- buttons to increase/decrease the heat.
  • In Spain, there is a limit on how much electricity can be drawn at any one point – as the hob is one of the biggest consumers, if the power trips when you try to use other appliances, try again with fewer things on. The electricity box is by the front door – return all switches to their up/on position if this happens.
HomePod
  • There is a HomePod mini on top of the microwave, and you can ask it to;
    • Set timers; “Hey Siri, set a timer for … minutes”
    • Tell you the weather forecast; “Hey Siri, what’s the weather forecast for today/tomorrow/this week”
    • Play music; “Hey Siri, play … by …” or “Hey Siri, play some pop/classical/jazz/etc”
    • Lock or open the front door; “Hey Siri, lock/unlock the front door”

Television

The TV is a Smart TV, so you can log into your streaming services to enjoy during your stay.

  • There are quick access buttons on the remote for Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video. If you press the Home (🏠) icon on the remote, you can access more apps such as YouTube, Apple TV+ and many more.
  • Please remember to sign yourself out before you check-out so the next guest doesn’t ruin your recommendations!
HomePod
  • There are a pair of HomePod minis on the sideboard, and you can ask them to;
    • Set timers; “Hey Siri, set a timer for … minutes”
    • Tell you the weather forecast; “Hey Siri, what’s the weather forecast for today/tomorrow/this week”
    • Play music; “Hey Siri, play … by …” or “Hey Siri, play some pop/classical/jazz/etc”

Air Conditioning

The bedrooms and living room have air conditioning, so be comfortable during your stay.

  • Remember to turn off the air conditioning when you leave the apartment or when you open the windows so we can minimise our impact on the environment.
  • On the coast, particularly at night, the humidity is a bigger cause of discomfort than temperature. Setting the air conditioning to 24ºC removes the humidity without consuming a vast amount of energy.
  • In Spain, there is a limit on how much electricity can be drawn at any one point – as the air conditioning is one of the biggest consumers, if the power trips when you try to use other appliances, try again with fewer things on. The electricity box is by the front door – return all switches to their up/on position if this happens.
  • The remote for each air conditioning unit is specific to the room.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool for the whole complex is located just across the street.

  • Throughout your time using the pool, you must wear a wristband. These are located in the basket next to the apartment entrance.
  • We have provided towels specifically for the pool – these are the colourful towels which were left on your bed! Please don’t use the regular towels.
  • Inside the cupboard in the kitchen you can find chairs and a parasol for use at the beach or pool.
  • The keys for the pool are located by the front door.

Rubbish

There are bins located across the road from the square, next to the Cathy’s Clown bar. Take your rubbish out regularly, particularly during the summer, and at the end of your stay.

Places We Recommend

San Luis de Sabinillas is lucky to have an amazing selection of both local and international bars and restaurants. Here are some of our favourites!

In the morning, we recommend you visit La Reina de las Tapas – across the square, which is an ‘Churreria’ offering coffee and delicious churros (deep friend, sugary deliciousness) to keep you going while you explore! You can also have a variety of different breakfast options here.

You are one street behind the beach and by taking a walk along the boulevard you’ll find lots of yummy eateries. A few that we love are Susi (ask about the dog and her obsession for stones), La Luna Nueva – great lunchtime tapas and La Cabaña del Rocío.

If you fancy a brisk walk, you can also follow the promenade along to the Marina at Duquesa (turn right when you get to the beach and walk for about 15 minutes), and here there are lots of international options for food.
